Russ Friedrich

Just a little bit about me, I have an engineering company in Monroe but my wife is a doctor in Shreveport; so I live in both towns. Monroe is home during the week, Shreveport weekends. My work keeps me on the road so I may not be able to make a lot of the meetings. If anything happens during the week in which you need a telescope (star parties, etc.) I would be more than happy to bring and set up a scope. The more advance notice the better. I have a 3” refractor, 8” reflector and a 4”, 10” and 12” cassegrains. The 10” does have a full solar filter. The 3” is from the late 1800’s in brass and the 8” is a scope I built myself in 1962. Photography is a hobby and I have done a lot of astrophotography over the years, presently using Canon digital cameras; only problem not enough time to print or correct.

This was taken from Cypress Point Drive on November 20, 2003 @ 7:45 p.m., looking north with a Canon digital camera. Exposure was 10 seconds, we only get to see about one of these every ten years here.
